Epping Forest MP Dame Eleanor Laing has praised the ongoing connections between Waltham Abbey and the German town of Hörstel.
The 30th anniversary of the twinning arrangement was marked with a dinner and the reaffirmation of the Charter between the towns at Waltham Abbey Town Hall.
Dame Eleanor said: "It was a pleasure to be invited to the historic occasion to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the ties formed between Waltham Abbey and Horstel.
"Many friendships have been formed over the years and the connections will only continue and become even stronger in the years to come."
Dame Eleanor tried Morris dancing during the evening.
"This was the first time I had taken part in Morris dancing - it was great fun - and a high-energy experience!"
