Epping Forest MP Dame Eleanor Laing has praised everyone involved in the return of the Theydon Bois Donkey Derby held on the Green on Sunday.
Crowds of people turned out for the traditional event which was being held for the 30th year.
As well as donkey races - with the races sponsored by local businesses and individuals - there was a funfair and numerous sideshows and other entertainment.
Dame Eleanor, who opened the event and sponsored two donkeys during the afternoon, said: "It was great to see the community come together once again and support the event which has been a regular fixture in the village's calendar for decades.
"A big thank you to the organising committee and the Scouts and Guides for all their hard work in ensuring the Donkey Derby was able to be held this year."
