Epping Forest MP Dame Eleanor Laing has praised the ongoing efforts to restore Copped Hall after attending a Shakespearean banquet at the historic venue.
The event was organised by Caroline Haines, a City of London councillor and the Master of the Worshipful Company of Educators.
Dame Eleanor said: "The magnificent Copped Hall was a wonderful setting for the event which was an opportunity to showcase the building which continues to be painstakingly restored to its former glory by The Copped Hall Trust.
"The Trust and the Friends of Copped Hall are, as is the local community, rightly proud of the building and its wonderfully well-kept grounds and the impressive walled garden.
"Copped Hall made a perfect setting for a brilliant performance of 'A Midsummer Night’s Dream' by the Theydon Bois Players."
Dame Eleanor added: "It was a pleasure to see Ben Murphy, an Epping boy and former Epping Town Mayor, now taking on the vital role of Chairman of the Epping Forest and Commons Committee of the City of London Corporation, and an honour to welcome the Lord Mayor of London, the Rt Hon Nicholas Lyons."
