Epping Forest MP Dame Eleanor Laing has congratulated the newly-elected members of Epping Forest Youth Council.
This year 34 candidates, aged between 12 and 17, contested 25 seats and last month 4,560 students across the district’s secondary schools voted for who they felt would best represent issues affecting young people.
Dame Eleanor said: "My congratulations to all those elected.
"It's important for the views of the young people in our community to be heard and discussed."
She added: "I really value the contact I have with Epping Forest Youth Council and its members.
"It is brilliant to see students here in Epping Forest learning from their experience with the youth council and going on to greater things as they get older."
