Epping Forest MP Dame Eleanor Laing is calling on the City of London Corporation to take action to prevent HGVs from damaging the Town Green in Epping.
The request follows the latest incident where an HGV has churned up the green by the town's war memorial.
Closing the road which crosses the green and installing a bollard to prevent large vehicles from mounting the kerb on the Lindsey Street corner are ideas which have been discussed in recent years.
Following the latest incident, on Tuesday morning, Dame Eleanor is urging the City of London to resolve the "ridiculous situation".
Dame Eleanor said: "This is the latest in a series of occasions when HGVs have mounted the kerb and churned up the grassed area in front of the war memorial.
"It is a ridiculous situation. Installing a bollard or closing the road would seem sensible solutions.
"The area is well maintained by Epping Town Council and it is a great shame that the efforts of town council staff are being ruined by the drivers who are causing this damage.
"Sat-Nav cannot be blamed for this; it is the drivers who decide to mount the kerb clearly knowing they will not be able to complete their maneouvre without going onto the grass."
Dame Eleanor added: "I appreciate that the City of London Corporation always does all it can to protect our forest and the surrounding areas so I look forward to discussing this further with the chairman of the Epping Forest and Commons Committee."
