Epping Forest MP Dame Eleanor Laing has expressed her thanks to the emergency services and volunteers for their response to yesterday's Storm Eunice.
While the district escaped the worst of the conditions, numerous trees came down - some blocking key roads - and some rural areas were still without power this morning.
Dame Eleanor said: "My thoughts are with all those who have been affected by the storm, especially those who are still without electricity.
"My thanks go to our emergency services and the many volunteers I have been told about who went out to assist with clearing trees which were blocking roads, so freeing up the emergency crews to deal with the more serious incidents."
