A blue cedar tree has been planted at the Grange Farm Centre in Chigwell - on National Earth Day - to mark the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.
The tree was planted by Epping Forest MP Dame Eleanor Laing during a tour of the grounds and publicly-accessible walks with trustees and local councillors.
Grange Farm Centre site manager Rob Draper said: "We were delighted to welcome Dame Eleanor Laing for the planting of our Queen's Platinum Jubilee tree - a blue cedar - on Chigwell Meadows - and also for a tour of the site to see our fantastic facilities, including our Community Garden."
He added: "It was also a good opportunity to meet the local district and county councillors, and see the fantastic work that we do here at Grange Farm."
Dame Eleanor said: "It was fascinating to visit Grange Farm Centre. It was a great honour to plant a tree to mark Her Majesty's Platinum Jubilee to add to the wonderfully preserved and well-managed trees, walks, grounds and wildlife preserves in this lovely corner of Chigwell."
She added: "On behalf of our local community I would like to thank Trevor Johnson (Chairman of Trustees), Rob Draper (site manager) and all the volunteers for the hard work they do to provide this wonderful haven."
